Ainsworth & Wells specializes in devising activities for major event hosts and destination brands via effective marketing and PR. Founder, Martine Ainsworth-Wells, strategically delivered marketing and communications for London 2004-2012, positioning the Olympic host city as a place to do business, visit, hold events, study and invest.
Post London 2012 the agency was in Brazil as part of a Government led delegation, briefing Rio De Janeiro on the challenges and opportunities of its 2016 Olympic host city status along with Sao Paulo and Brasilia – 2014 World Cup host cities. In March 2013 and March 2014 the agency participated in a UKTI British Expertise Missions to Rio De Janeiro and Sao Paulo and in May 2013 was in Brasilia working with business federation Sebrae to ensure businesses were well prepared for the challenges and opportunities of hosting major events. In September 2013 the agency returned to Sao Paulo and Rio De Janeiro on a British Government major events trade mission to explore business opportunities within the music and sport sector. Martine Ainsworth-Wells has visited Brazil 7 times in the last 16 months and in April 2014 presented London’s Olympic Case study at World Travel Market Latin America, Sao Paulo.
ETOA, the European Tourism Association, is the leading inbound tourism body, offering unparalleled B2B platforms and advocacy support on a European level, high profile industry campaigns and marketing opportunities. ETOA’s aim is to enhance Europe’s position as a world-class destination by creating events and activities in which businesses connect, and to raise policy and regulatory issues which are not conducive to business in a free market economy.
Martine acted as Director of Marketing and Commerce from July 2014-15 with a remit to strategically create, direct, deliver and evaluate all activities related to ETOA’s events, communications, marketing and commercial agenda. She now acts as the association’s Head of Destination engagement.
Ainsworth & Wells in partnership with Arkenford and Fourth Street was appointed by Capital Region Tourism, Visit Wales and Wales Screen Commission to create a strategic action plan to optimise the benefits of film and media tourism.
A&W was appointed by Liverpool Vision / Mayor of Liverpool’s promotion agency to devise the strategic marketing and communications strategy for the Government funded International Festival for Business 2014 – www.ifb.com & the creation of bespoke tourism focused event
Ainsworth & Wells has worked via PA Consulting, for the British and Irish Governments, to review the opportunities for tourism collaboration between Britain and Ireland. The agency has worked with Visit Scotland to help the tourism industry understand the impact of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Martine is an accomplished public speaker and broadcaster and regularly appears on UK and international TV and radio. She is a contributor to the Telegraph, Host City and SportsPro writing about major events host cities including London, Liverpool and Rio de Janeiro. She has appeared as a panellist on the UK’s “The Apprentice” critiquing the entrant’s efforts.
Martine is a guest lecturer at London Southbank University and Glion University on tourism communications and marketing
